Once while shooting with a few other 'spotters' a man walked up behind us and said, "The airplanes are on schedules. They don't flit around in the sky, so they seem pretty easy to shoot. They're here [at the airport] everyday. So...what's the challenge?"
The spotters looked around at one another. Some shrugged, some went on shooting. But that's when I realized it. We were all standing in the same spot, shooting the same thing. Many asking one another what camera settings each other was using. I realized the hardest part about spotting was capturing something unique.
Some of the following were taken while playing around at local airports. A few gems caught at airports on a road trip. Or just catching traffic the day before an airshow. |
