Malfunction

High performance parachutes have a way of making events that used to be mildly annoying a bit more of an issue.

On this jump I experienced line-twists. Being off-center in the harness and slow to react caused a spin that I deemed unrecoverable in a reasonable amount of time.

So what do you do?

You cutaway - release your main parachute - return to freefall - and deploy your reserve.

It was the third time I have had to do this in about 5,000 jumps.
