In 2010 I was asked by writer, John Carr, to work as a session photographer for pre-production work on the film, American Anthem.

Though we did the shooting in Minneapolis, the story takes place in Marquette, MI. The current 'hotbed' of speed skating in the U.S. It follows the lives of a group of teenage short-track speed skaters.

As with any sub-culture, the deeper we look the more there is to be seen. As we follow Eric, Steve, Blake, Hanna, Jenna, Devin, and Rachel it becomes apparent that competition skating is only one of many focal points.

As of October of 2010, the screenplay was being reviewed by gold medalist, Apolo Ohno.
